I’ve Been Named After a Deceiver

Jacob in the Bible was, in my opinion a pretty dense guy.

He worked for Laben for 14 years to get the wife he really wanted, motivated by lust essentially to work his butt off, disappointed his first wife that he didn’t want and ultimately had baggage for days.

He got blessing after blessing, yet he still pursued and fought for more.

I can very much relate to Jacob’s incompetence when the good Lord is trying to tell me something, but like a dog returns to its vomit – I keep coming back in confusion, self-denial, or pure overwhelm.
